Robertson Named Player of the Year
Snooker: Neil Robertson has been named as Snooker Writer's Association player of the year.
Neil Robertson, the only player to win two world ranking events last season, was yesterday named as the Snooker Writer's Association's player of the year.
Jamie Cope won the newcomer of the year award, Andrew Higginson the achievement of the year for reaching the Welsh Open final after starting odds of 500-1 and the Guardian's Clive Everton won the association's special award after clocking up 500 consecutive days commentating at the Crucible.
