Britain's Lewis Hamilton was forced to settle for fifth, and now his title lead over Alonso - who claimed third - is just five points with five races remaining.
Massa took the chequered flag for his third win of the season, and fifth of his career to close the gap to Hamilton to 15 points, while Raikkonen is 16 adrift after coming home as runner-up.
Heidfeld comfortably held on for fourth, while Kovalainen was sixth, Rosberg seventh, with the final point going to Kubica.
Coulthard came home 10th, with Button 13th and Davidson 14th.
In the constructors' championship, McLaren's cushion over Ferrari is now just 11 points.
