No Return for Reyes

Soccer: Arsene Wenger has revealed that Jose Reyes will not be returning to Arsenal.
Arsène Wenger last night confirmed that José Antonio Reyes will not return to Arsenal. The Spain forward, loaned to Real Madrid last season, hopes to secure an £8m move to Real or Atlético Madrid in the next few days, but he will also meet Lyon's administrative director, Marino Faccioli, and their head scout, Rémi Garde, in Seville today as the French club mount a last attempt to persuade him to spurn a return to Spain.

"Both Atlético and Real have made improved offers [to Arsenal] and, while we can match whatever is on the table, I think the player would prefer to stay in Spain," said the Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas. "We can offer him Champions League football but we can't turn Lyon into a Spanish club." Wenger, Arsenal's manager, said: "We'll make an announcement shortly but he will not come back here."
