Two small explosions have hit part of the Spanish section of today's stage of the Tour de France after Basque separatist rebels Eta claimed to have planted several bombs along the route through Navarre.
According to the El Pais newspaper website, no one was hurt as the riders had already passed through the area when the blasts occurred. The race is continuing as normal.
Eta has killed more than 800 people in four decades of armed struggle for traditional Basque lands in northern Spain and southern France, and called off a ceasefire last month.
