Speedway: Harris Comes From Behind to Win British Grand Prix
A spectacular performance in the final took Chris Harris to victory in the British grand prix in Cardiff.
Chris Harris added the British grand prix to his recent title as British champion when, before a record raucous crowd of 41,247 in Cardiff, he came from behind in the final to overtake the world champion Jason Crump, then on the last bend the American Greg Hancock.
The 24-year-old from Truro, in his first full championship season, is the race's first home winner since it moved to the Millennium Stadium in 2001. Victory takes him to fifth in the overall standings, led by the Dane Nicki Pedersen. Scott Nicholls, his Coventry team-mate, was seventh on Saturday and lies 10th overall.
