Inevitably, this revolves around Tuesday's stunning King's Stand Stakes winner, Miss Andretti. Aussie sprinter Choisir did the big sprint double in 2003, but it proved beyond Takeover Target last year when he could only finish third here behind 33-1 shot Les Arcs, who got home by a neck.

Takeover Target ran as though he needed six furlongs now when fourth behind Miss Andretti, with fellow Aussie Magnus third, on Tuesday. The latter will certainly appreciate this extra furlong, but Miss Andretti also beat Magnus when they met over 6f at Caulfield in March. Amadeus Wolf put down the marker for the home team when beating Red Clubs (gave 4lb) and Soldier's Tale in the Duke of York Stakes.

That effort suggests Kevin Ryan's colt can improve on his fifth placing here last year. With such a short-priced favorite, there is plenty of each-way value around which brings the likes of Bygone Days into the frame. He showed improvement last year and will enjoy the ease in the ground, as will another improver Firenze
