World No1 Federer certainly didn't have it all his own way against sixth seed Davydenko, and trailed 5-2 at one point in the third set before recovering to win 7-5, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (8-6).
He will now face either defending champion Rafael Nadal or sixth seed Novak Djokovic in the final.
