Enzo Maccarinelli has confirmed he will defend his WBO world cruiserweight title against Wayne Braithwaite in Cardiff on July 31.
Swansea's Enzo Maccarinelli will defend his WBO world cruiserweight title against the New York-based Guyanese Wayne Braithwaite in Cardiff on July 31.
Maccarinelli, 26, a training partner of the WBO super-middleweight champion, Joe Calzaghe, has lost only once and 20 of his 26 wins have been by stoppage or knockout.
Braithwaite, a former WBC champion promoted by Don King, has stopped 18 of his 22 opponents and has lost only twice.
On the same Frank Warren bill Alex Arthur of Edinburgh faces Koba Gogoladze for the vacant WBO super-featherweight belt and the Welshman Gavin Rees challenges Soulemayne M'Baye of France for the WBA light-welterweight title.
