Snooker: O'sullivan Fined £11,750 for Mid-match Walkout

Ronnie O'Sullivan has been fined £11,750 after his walk out during the UK Championship quarter-finals in York in December.
Ronnie O'Sullivan was yesterday fined £11,750 and ordered to pay £5,000 costs by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association for his unprecedented walkout in the sixth frame of a possible 17 in the UK Championship quarter-finals in York in December.

O'Sullivan, who was trailing Stephen Hendry 4-1 and retired for personal reasons which have never been made public, must also forfeit his prize money for the event - £4,050 - and the 900 ranking points he earned.

That will not affect his end-of-season ranking of fifth because it will come into play only when the list receives its next official revision at the end of the 2007-08 season.
