Motor Racing: Senna Takes First Top
Ayrton Senna's nephew Bruno took his first victory in Barcelona in GP2, the competition Lewis Hamilton won last year.
Bruno Senna, nephew of former world champion Ayrton Senna, won his first major international event when he took victory in the GP2 race at Barcelona.
Senna won by five seconds from Timo Glock, the German driver having lost the lead due to a tactical error when his team failed to make a mandatory pit stop at the most opportune moment during a safety-car period. Glock had led from pole, with Senna starting from sixth position and making the most of first-lap mayhem.
Senna, 23, is the son of Vivane, sister of the Formula 1 driver killed during the San Marino Grand Prix on 1 May 1994. Last year's GP2 championship, the F1 support series for up and coming drivers, was won by Lewis Hamilton. Senna has previously competed in the British F3 championship and won the F3 support race for the Australian Grand Prix in March. Senna will start from eighth on the grid for the GP2 sprint race this morning.
