Windows domination will soon come to an end.. Ubuntu release the most friendly distribution for windows users

We are waiting for the day when windows will not be the most used operating system, and these days are not too far. The Ubuntu team announced yesterday the beta release of Ubuntu 7.04. They say that this release is the most friendly distribution for windows users.

Some of the features in the new release are:

Windows migration tool that import the bookmarks from internet explorer, firefox favorites, desktop wallpaper, AOL IM contacts, and Yahoo IM contacts.

Easy-to-install codec wizards. Wizards, windows specific characteristic, probably most of you don't use them in windows, but a lot of lazy windows users will love it.

Plug and play network sharing with Avahi. This feature allows ubuntu users to easy find and join wireless networks and share files.

VMI support, which provides optimised performance under VMWare.

Thin client management. Administrators can now manage thin client connections to a server more easily.

Feisty Fawn desktop specs include:
GNOME 2.18, OpenOffice.org 2.2.0rc3, X.org 7.2

The server edition includes Apache 2.2, PostgreSQL 8.2, PHP 5.2.1, LTSP 5.0
