Boxing: Kessler Lines Up Calzaghe Bout
Mikkel Kessler successfully defended his WBC and WBA supermiddleweight titles against Librado Andrade in Copenhagen.
Denmark's Mikkel Kessler retained his WBC and WBA world supermiddleweight titles in front of an 18,000 crowd at the Parken Arena in Copenhagen when he outboxed the Mexican Librado Andrade to score a unanimous points decision.
All three judges scored the contest 120-108, with Kessler, 28, winning every round. It was the undefeated Kessler's 39th victory as a professional and after the fight he told television viewers: "I am coming for you Calzaghe," underlining his desire for a world title unification match against the WBO champion Joe Calzaghe, who defends his title on April 7 against Peter Manfredo at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
