Rugby League: Second Face Operation for Morley
Warrington's Adrian Morley faces around six weeks out after being hit by another injury blow.
Adrian Morley will have to wait at least another six weeks to make an impact in the Super League with Warrington after being diagnosed with a displaced fracture of the cheekbone which will require the Great Britain prop's second facial operation in little more than a month.
Morley suffered his latest injury in the Wolves' home win over Hull Kingston Rovers on Sunday, less than 17 minutes into his first game since fracturing an eye socket on his debut at Wigan on February 9. "We've been told that it's a new and separate injury, and the chances of that happening are quite unbelievable," said the Warrington coach Paul Cullen, who remains confident in the 29-year-old's ability to justify the four-year contract on which he joined the Wolves after six seasons with the Sydney Roosters. "We've got no concerns long-term and there are no medical concerns we've been made aware of. He's just very unlucky."
Cullen also confirmed that Warrington remain in close touch with Andrew Johns - the Australian scrum-half who had a three-match cameo with the Wolves in 2005 - in response to Sydney reports that he has been given until June 1 by his current club, the Newcastle Knights, to resolve his future.
Salford have signed the France hooker David Berthezene on a month's loan from Catalans Dragons after losing their captain Malcolm Alker for an indefinite period with knee-ligament damage. Berthezene will go straight into the City Reds squad for Sunday's game at Huddersfield.
Hull's Australian centre Sid Domic was last night suspended for two matches after being found guilty of striking in last Saturday's 24-12 against St Helens.
