Champions League: Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney Have Been Passed Fit for Action
Soccer: Arsenal and Manchester United will be boosted by the return of their big guns for tomorrow's nights Champions League clashes.
Arsenal captain Thierry Henry will return to the squad for tomorrow night's Champions League clash with PSV Eindhoven at the Emirates Stadium.
The Frenchman had been sidelined because of a foot problem and a troublesome hamstring, but joined in with training today. "He can start, if I decide to start him," manager Arsene Wenger. "There is no risk for his health, but it is just it could get worse again after the game and that you then start from scratch."
Meanwhile, Manchester United have announced Wayne Rooney will be fit to face Lille at Old Trafford. Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher tore an ugly gash in the striker's leg with a clumsy tackle on his England team-mate during Saturday Premeirship game at Anfield, but no serious damage was done and Rooney will be available to help his side protect, or build on, their 1-0 lead over the French outfit.
"Ronney's OK," said manager Sir Alex Ferguson. "We've a couple of doubts but he's not one of them."
On the downside for United, however, is news that Louis Saha is not fit to face his compatriots and midfielder Darren Fletcher will miss the next two months with ankle ligament trouble.
