Anna Nicole Smith Dies

Smith’s attorney, Ron Rale, confirmed her death saying, "Anna Nicole is deceased. We do not know the cause." Smith was reportedly found unresponsive in the hotel room she was staying in with Howard K. Stern. She was reportedly found by a nurse who then called for help. There has been no word on why there was a nurse with her. It was also reported that Smith’s bodyguard attempted to perform CPR before she was rushed to the hospital. It was reported that she died about an hour after arriving at the hospital.

The last few months have been particularly painful for the former Playmate. She gave birth to her daughter Dannielynn Hope on September 7 at a hospital in the Bahamas. Three days later her 20-year old son Daniel Wayne died in his mother’s hotel room of a reported drug overdose. He reportedly died from a lethal dose of antidepressants and methadone. The death was ruled an accident after a medical investigation. Smith’s former boyfriend photographer Larry Birkhead claims that he is the father of Dannielynn Hope despite the fact that Smith’s lawyer and friend Howard K. Stern claims that he is the baby’s father and he is listed as such on her birth certificate. Smith and Stern even held a commitment ceremony on September 28, reportedly to signify their love.

Wednesday Smith and her daughter were ordered to submit to a DNA test by February 21 to determine the paternity. Smith and the diet pill company TrimSpa, she was a spokesperson for the company, were named in a class action lawsuit earlier this week alleging that the marketing of TrimSpa X32 was false and/or misleading. Rale said Thursday that Smith had been suffering from a deep depression over the loss of her son and said, "She was a loving mother. I hope Anna is reunited with Daniel." Daughter Dannielynn was not with Smith and Stern at the hotel but was in the Bahamas with the mother of a close friend.
