Boxing: Hatton Insists Fight Against Castillo is 100% Certain
Ricky Hatton says he is prepared to give up his IBF title to fight Mexico's Luis Castillo instead of the IBF's No1 contender.
Ricky Hatton, right, has put an end to speculation that he might next fight the IBF No1 contender Lovemore N'Dou instead of the former world lightweight champion José Luis Castillo of Mexico, saying he is 100% certain he will be fighting Castillo in Las Vegas in June. He also told Sky Sports he would be ready to give up the IBF light-welterweight title, if necessary, to take the Castillo fight. Hatton is undefeated in 42 professional fights, but the vagaries of boxing politics would mean this would be the fourth time he had lost a title outside the ring. "It's full steam ahead," he said. "The Castillo fight will go ahead 100% in June and it's going to be in Las Vegas."
