Patriotourism in New Orleans; Thank You!
Thank you Buzzle readers for your tremendous response!
I would like to thank everyone for their responses and links to my article and posts on Patriotourism in New Orleans. As a result, it has been translated into many languages, including Dutch, French, Spanish and Hebrew. "Patriotourism" now appears in the Wikipedia and the Urban Dictionary, and garnered me with an appearance on a local TV news program, WDSU Channel 6’s "Six on Your Side Live".
I especially want to thank all of you who are actually coming to New Orleans to contribute to our recovery. This weekend I did a wedding ceremony for a couple from Chicago whose guests included almost a hundred people from 13 different states! It’s very moving to see, and be involved in such a grass-roots effort to save our beautiful city. The American People are some of the most generous and big-hearted there are, but they aren’t the only ones. I’ve also done weddings recently for couples from Australia, England and Canada that came to lend their support. Thank you to all!
I’m going to keep pounding away on this keyboard until New Orleans is truly reborn, and we who live here genuinely appreciate all that the world is doing to help.
God bless you all!
