Nissan’s Full Size Pickup: The Titan
Nissan Titan is the company’s answer to the call of the full-size pickup market. The truck, with its great all around performance and awesome features will no doubt be a serious contender in its class.
Asian car manufacturers are really giving the US based giants with tough competition. Not only are they succeeding in securing the small car market in the US but they are also making a bid for full size pickup supremacy. What seemed to be impossible years ago is happening now - Asian car manufactures are challenging the US brands on their own strong point, the truck segment of the market.
A prime example of that is Nissan which has released in the US market its full size pickup, the Nissan Titan. American car manufacturers better keep up with the pace because companies such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan are producing quality trucks at par with what they are producing.
The Nissan Titan is an all around great package from the brand known for producing quality vehicles. It is an all wheel drive with great off roading capability and high performance level. It is a full size pickup truck with great exterior designs guaranteed to turn heads, and loaded with awesome features any car buyer would surely like to have. Its entertainment package includes an 8-speaker audio system for optimum music enjoyment of the 6-disc in dash CD changer. Thrown into that package is Nissan’s Mobile Theatre System with DVD player, 7-inch monitor and wireless headphones.
Added amenities are power windows, locks, back glass and extra airbags. Buyers can also get a towing package and an off road package for additional costs. All of these features complement the luxurious styling of the truck’s interior.
Driving performance of the truck is also an experience in itself, the steering is responsive and the suspension is great giving the occupants a smooth ride even in off road driving. The Nissan Titan is powered by a 5.6 liter V8 engine capable of producing 305 units of horsepower which strong enough to power the truck even under full load and at extreme road conditions. Aftermarket parts compatible to the engine can be added to further enhance the power plant’s capability, like the Titan cold air intake system. This will surely increase the efficiency of the engine and add more oomph to its already powerful engine performance.
The Nissan Titan’s bridge from its powerful engine to the wheels is a five speed automatic transmission with floor mounted gear shift lever for the more adventurous drivers. It is also equipped with a 4-wheel limited slip system which applies braking force to a wheel that needs traction while directing power to that wheel. Stopping power is provided by the vehicle’s 12.6-inch Bosch disc brakes with the anti-lock braking system.
Its overall performance plus the features it has surely makes this truck a contender in the full-size pickup truck market.
