NRI Interest in Real Estate

Today, the real estate industry is one of the biggest contributors in the growing Indian economy. The real estate has emerged as a huge industry in past few years and as per industry sources this boom will continue for a good time to come. The future of the Indian real estate industry is going to be quite promising and rewarding.

The Indian government is also making immense revenues by selling the land to various builders for the purpose of development as residential, industrial and commercial projects. On the other hand, the government is also contributing in a big way by providing the much required infrastructure support for the real estate development all across the country. Also, effective measures are taken by the government to promote more and more investment in the investment in the real estate sector. The focus is on NRI real estate investment and the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

There are certain policies that are being formulated to facilitate the real estate transactions and make the system more transparent. The aim is to allow maximum possible Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and similarly encourage NRI real estate investment. These funds in huge amount would of great help to further boost the real estate market of India. The government including Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has liberalized the rules and regulations related to NRI property or NRI homes investment. Both the NRIs and the persons of Indian origin are being encouraged to invest in properties in India. Like any other person the NRIs can invest in both residential as well as the commercial properties in India. There is also no kind or restriction as to the maximum number of properties that can be bought. Although there are some restrictions as far as purchase of an agricultural land or farm house is concerned.

To further assist the NRI real estate investment the banks and financial institutions provide finance facility to enable them properties quite comfortably. There are professional consultancy companies which exclusively help the NRIs to take their decisions in property investment in India. The repayment of loan taken by the NRIs can be easily repaid through normal inward remittance or through debit in their NRE or NRO bank account.

The property market in India is all set to become an organized industry with such huge amount of investment flowing in from various sources including NRI real estate initiatives. The transactions involved in the buying and selling of properties are going to be a lot more transparent. This would definitely infuse immense confidence in public towards real estate investments.
