Milan Seal Ronaldo Deal
Soccer: Ronaldo has signed for Milan after the Rossoneri agreed to pay Real Madrid £5m and give them Ricardo Oliveira on loan.
Ronaldo has at last completed his switch to AC Milan from Real Madrid.
The two clubs have been haggling over the finer details of Ronaldo's transfer for several days after he completed a medical and agreed personal terms at the San Siro on Friday, but have finally settled on a fee of about £5m. Ricardo Oliveira, who only joined Milan in the summer from Real Betis, will move to the Bernabau on loan as part of the deal.
"I know that Ronaldo is Milan's," said Real coach Fabio Capello. "I wish him good luck, that he does what he used to be able to do: that is be a great player."
Milan made a bid for Ronaldo in August - before they had moved for Oliveira - but were told at the time he was not for sale. He has fallen out of favour at Real since, however, and hasn't played since a January 7 defeat at Deportivo La Corue.
