Owls Accept Charlton Offer for Bougherra
Soccer: Defender Madjid Bougherra is on his way to London for talks over a £2.5m move to The Valley.
Sheffield Wednesday have accepted a bid from Charlton for central defender Madjid Bougherra.
The Owls had previously rejected a £1.3m offer for the 24-year-old Algerian international, but Charlton have now made an "improved offer", understood to be in the region of £2.5m, which has met Wednesday's valuation.
Both Birmingham and the Addicks were reportedly interested in the defender but only Alan Pardew's side made a firm offer.
Owls chairman Dave Allen declared earlier in the week that he would only listen to offers of around £3m for Bougherra, who arrived on a free transfer in the summer from French side Gueugnon.
Bougherra is now expected to travel to London for talks and a medical.
