Boxing: Klitschko Wants Title Fight
Vitali Klitschko has revealed his wish to fight Oleg Maskaev for the WBC title after coming out of retirement.
The former world heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko is to make a comeback and hopes to fight the World Boxing Council champion Oleg Maskaev in April in his first bout since beating Britain's Danny Williams in December 2004.
Klitschko, 35, retired in November 2005 following knee surgery. Last night he said: "I have been in the gym for a couple of weeks and I feel great. My injuries have healed and, after much hard work and with the approval of the doctors, I am cleared to continue my career.
I retired without having lost the WBC belt in the ring, and the WBC assured me whenever I was ready to return I would become the immediate mandatory challenger for the title."
