Fa Clears Pardew Over Wenger Confrontation
Soccer: Charlton manager Alan Pardew has been cleared over his touchline fisticuffs with Arsene Wenger in November.
Charlton manager Alan Pardew has been cleared of misconduct by the Football Association over his touchline spat with Arsene Wenger in November.
The incident occurred when Wenger shoved Pardew after the then West Ham manager encroached on the Frenchman's technical area while celebrating Marlon Harewood's 89th-minute winner in an ill-tempered London derby.
Wenger was also charged last month and charged £10,000 for his part in the incident. But an FA disciplinary commission found that the charge against Pardew "was not proven".
Charlton defender Osei Sankofa, meanwhile, has seen his claim for wrongful dismissal rejected by the commission. Sankofa was sent off for
denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity during Tuesday's Premiership match against Arsenal, and has now been given an additional one-match suspension.
