Boxing: Gammer Rejects Harrison Offer
Scott Gammer has turned down a £100,000 offer to defend his British heavyweight title against Audley Harrison, saying it's not a good enough deal.
Scott Gammer's manager, Paul Boyce, has rejected a £100,000 offer from the promoter Frank Warren for the 30-year-old Welshman to defend his British heavyweight title against Audley Harrison at Wembley Arena on February 17. Boyce says the offer is not good enough and that he has other plans for his boxer.
Warren said: "I'm stunned that he has turned down the biggest pay day of Gammer's career. I don't think the purses from his last five fights add up to the amount I am offering for him to fight Harrison."
Harrison, the former Olympic champion, stopped Danny Williams in the third round of their fight in London's ExCel centre 11 days ago.
