Snooker: Family Life Settles O'sullivan

Far from being a distraction, Ronnie O'Sullivan says news that his wife is pregnant again will be a spur for his UK Championship ambitions.
Ronnie O'Sullivan begins his quest for a fourth UK Championship title in York today, basking in new personal contentment.

O'Sullivan, who turned 31 yesterday, became a father last February and his partner, Jo, is pregnant again. After years spent battling depression, he finds he can now take pleasure in life thanks to his daughter Lily.

"The most important thing in my life is my little girl now and we've got another one on the way," said O'Sullivan, the UK champion in 1993, 1997 and 2001. "For me, my whole life is just about my kids. Snooker is only a game but I'm enjoying it."

Yesterday Joe Perry breezed through to the second round with a 9-1 defeat of Michael Judge.
