Jeremy Frem isn't working out as expected...
Hi Journey.
Went for another long run after Sunday school today. Of course, the skies just had to open up on me two miles in. And dumb-me, I spaced tossing on a shell over my sweatshirt. Nothing like a chilly October rain to slice right through and freeze me to the core.
Still, I gutted out the last two miles. Luckily, I did have on a ball cap that kept most of the frigid little drops from stinging my eyes.
The shower gives you time to think. I thought of Jeremy and our lunch on Friday. He was pleasant, but non-committal about hanging out for the weekend, so I didn’t push. Maybe he’s thick or shy; I’m not sure. Anyway, I was staring at the usual Saturday’s worth of work at the shop.
He was quite happy we won the account, of course. And I did bribe him just a little, telling him I’d have to buy him a nice steak dinner at Big Mike’s. Still, he didn’t pick up on my lead and ask me out so I just dropped it.
Journey, I don’t mind giving these guys a little shove, but I don’t want to push them over the edge, either.
Tried to Skype the family, but they’d already packed up their computer. I rang up Mom and we chatted a bit, but she and Dad were just ready to bolt out the door for a quarterly meeting at the men’s shelter, so we only talked all of five minutes.
So I worked all afternoon.
At least I’m caught up on work and sleep, if not companionship.
Goodnight, Journey.
