Crystal fears Shelly might leave.
October 26. Thursday Night.
Hi Journey.
Shelly’s done a really good job, between you and me Journey I am probably going to give her a raise come the first of the year. There’s no way we would’ve bagged the First Unified account without her insight. I need to keep her close.
And I don’t know why I’m scared she’ll leave. Nervous energy I guess. Not sure. Sometimes a feeling of dread will creep in, and I’ve often noted it happens after a big victory. Maybe it’s a flaw in my character, or too many fights with Mom after I’d brought home stellar report cards only to have her challenge me to set some new goal to push myself toward.
Or maybe it’s just being in business.
Jeremy and I have a lunch scheduled for tomorrow. He’s quite keen that we got the job.
So am I.
Long run tonight, Journey; third one this week. The first was on Monday, and I ran to clear my head of the little spider webs of anxiety that kept weaving themselves into my mind because I didn’t know if we’d secured the project. The next was on Wednesday night, when I still was still savoring the victory--and the Dom Perignon. Today my feelings have floated back down to something resembling normal, so tonight’s run was the usual escape into the pleasure of exhaustion.
Casey is in Japan with Carmen and her crew. Probably need to Skype them all before they fly out their separate ways on Sunday.
Goodnight, Journey.
