Cycling: Millar Faces Further Doping Charge
British pursuit champion David Millar has been confirmed as one of 10 people facing a doping trial in France.
David Millar, crowned British pursuit champion last Wednesday, will be among 10 people facing trial for infringing France's anti-doping laws between November 6-10, the court in Nanterre confirmed.
The accused include six former professional cyclists. The case goes back to an inquiry into doping involving the Scot's former team Cofidis, which ended late in 2004. During the inquiry Millar confessed to the use of the blood booster erythropoietin and later received a two-year ban.
A court spokesman said that in his view the case "had no interest from a judicial point of view. On the other hand there was a real issue of public health in the sport".
