I also want to thank Phoebe Gardens. She's also a buzzle author and had actually inspired me to become one! Read her story "It could be him" you'll see what I mean (:

Brandon's POV

The first week of school has gone by quickly. Maybe it's only because I'm hanging out with Amber more and more each day. Last night, we were working on our physics homework together. Well, sort of working. We ate dinner at her house first and then watched some television and then did some of physics homework. After the first couple of problems, we fooled around. Man, we had so much fun.

I'm waiting for 6th period to end. Government, I really hate Government. I probably have an F right now. Just around 10 more minutes of this class then it's the weekends! Well, after football practice it is. I hope Ambs is going to come to Chase Andrew's party. I hope so. Everyone goes to his back to school party and Io want to show her off..not as a girlfriend or anything but as a best friend. Whoa, girlfriend? What am I thinking? She and I are just friends. Well I did kind have feelings for her during that 8th grade dance but I'm not so sure anymore. I don't know if I feel that same spark the way I did in 8th grade.

I sneakily took out my cell phone. I quickly sent Amber a text.

"By any chance, have you decided if you want to go to Chase Andrew party? -Brandon"

I hit send and then sent another text to one of my close guy friends, Ryan.

"Hey man, I'm bored right now in Stats and I'm also trying to get Amber to come to Chase Andrew party. Got any suggestions? -Brandon"

I got a text back immediately from Ryan. He's a fast texter.

"Dude, tell her that she's going to regret not going because this is the last party. If she says no, then maybe just trick her into going. She's not going to be mad. She would be glad to come to the party of the year! - Ryan"

I thought about it while my Government teacher, Mr. Greenstock, was giving us about politics. She probably won't be mad at me. She might thank me. But then again, she's not the type to party. Hm..

My phone vibrated. I got a text.

"Nah, you go. I think I'm going to stay home and start working on college apps- Amber"
Typical Amber. How am I going to get her to come?

I sent her a text.

"Come on Ambs. You have all the time in the world right now to work on them. Please come. You're going to break my heart if you don't. - Brandon"

I hit send. I hope I didn't sound too desperate but I really want her to come. Not because I want to figure out my feelings for her, but just that she's my best friend. When I tell my friends about Amber, they think I'm in love with her because I know a lot of stuff about her and that she doesn't seem like the type of girl that is just my best friend. They think I'm a type of God or something because almost every girl wanted me since 6th grade because of my so call "good looks" or because of my social status. Everyone thinks that except Ryan. I don't think I'm ugly or anything but there are other guys at this school! All the girls here just need to get a hold of reality and open their eyes and see that there are other guys at this school.

I looked at the clock. 5 more minutes till class is over.

I got a text back. It's Amber.

"I'm not the type of person who parties though. -Amber"

I quickly texted back.
"It's okay you'll have me." - Brandon"

Seconds later, I got a text back.

"How can I say no to you? Fine, I'll go. Only for an hour. - Amber"

RING! The bell rang. I walked out of Government happily.

"YES! SHE'S COMING!" I thought to myself as I walk to football practice.

Amber's POV

"Tiff, I'm really nervous." I say over the phone as I'm starting to fill out my college application. "What if everyone thinks I'm a freak?" It's Friday night, usually the night where teenagers go out to do something while I just stay home and do homework.

"Naw, just be your warming, sweet, innocent you. Everyone looks up to you. Just be careful though, people drink and smoke and stuff there," she says.

Drink. Smoke. 2 of the top reasons why I don't want to go to Chase Andrews party. I've never smoked or drank in my high school life and I plan on keeping it that way.

"Do you think Brandon drinks and smokes?" I ask her.
"Probably doesn't. He's a football player with a 4.0 GPA. He possibly can't."
"Yea, you're right. But what should I wear? I have nothing to wear."
"Hm.. of course you do. You have a closet full of attractive clothes that you never choose to wear," she says.

She's right. I have a lot of clothes. But I always stick to the ones that are casual and not sexy. I always thought about dressing a little sexier but I've always lost my self-confidence.

"Are you going to come to Chase's party, Tiff?" I ask.
"Maybe. I have to see. Hey I got to go. I have this meeting with the school board or something. Bye Girlie."
"Bye." I say as I hung up my phone.

"HELLO?!!!!!" I hear a voice downstairs. "Is anyone home?"

I ran downstairs. It was my older sister.

"SHARON!!!" I screamed as I ran to hug her. "I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too." She says as she puts her bags down.
Sharon is currently a senior at USC but is 6 years older than me. It's close by but I haven't seen her since last summer since she was studying abroad in Paris to learn French.

"Is mom or dad home?" she asks.
"No." I responded as I was helping her carrying her bags upstairs.
"Thought so," she says.

Our parents work at the hospital for the afternoon and night shift. They would come home at 5 am and go to bed so I rarely see them. We haven't gone to a family trip since Sharon graduated from high school.

We got to Sharon's room.

"So, any boyfriends lately?" Sharon asks as she started unpacking.
I responded, "No."
"What?! What about that Brandon guy?"
"What about him?"
"Aren't you guys boyfriend and girlfriend?""
"No, we're just friends."
"Oh, I see I see. A friend that's a boy," she teases.
"Hey!! What's that supposed to mean?" I ask, trying not to blush.
"Oh nothing."
"Anyway sis, I have a problem. Brandon wants me to go to this guy's party. I don't want to go but Brandon kind of gave me no choice. Now, I'm thinking about how I'm going to act or what I'm going to wear. Help me please?"
"Oo, a party eh?" she says. "Just be yourself but don't do anything stupid like I did."

Sharon used to be a big party person. In high school, she would be out every Saturday night for a party. She got into this nice university in England but got kicked out a year later for too much partying. She spent about a month in rehab for alcohol and then went to a community college to transfer to USC.

"I guess. I don't Sharon. Is it a good idea for me to go to this party? And I still don't know what to wear," I say.
"Yes, you need to get out more and enjoy high school," she says with a grin. "And don't worry, I have something for you to wear. You would be the hottest girl in that party." She opens all of her suitcases and her closet. "Let's see... where is it..."

I gulped. What have I got myself into?
