11:11pm Ch. 15 Part 2

The homecoming dance!
Hey guys! Sorry it's been awhile. Things have been hectic with my internet for my laptop and summer school but thankfully THAT'S ALL OVER :). And don't worry, I have been working :). I am thinking about putting 2 stories up, one short cutesy story and one long adventurous dramaish story. The short and cutsey one is called "Always Yours" and the long adventurous dramaish story is called "Love Shots." And guess what? THE PROLOGUES ARE UP SO GO CHECK THEM OUT :)

I also want to thank you guys who have been putting up with my for the past year! :) I am so grateful to you guys supporters! AND to hear people wising at 11:11 makes me feel even better so thanks! and I too make wishes at 11:11 :D

@Morgan- Thanks for the constructive criticism, I truly appreciate it! :D I will try to keep that in mind in my future stories but I'm not going to fix anything 11:11pm mainly because it's my first story and I want to look back to something where I have written out of place. But I understand what you mean and I totally agree with you (I also tend to do that on my SATs :P) haha. But just next time, when you're trying to tell people what they can improve on or just wanted to tell them what you think they are doing wrong as writers, just say what you need to say instead of saying unnecessary things such as "this was a 5" or "this plot is boring" because those little unnecessary remarks might make your constructive criticism seem more blunt because you'll never know, there may be writers out there who are really sensitive, so my advice to you is to just keep that in mind :)

@Ashley- Thanks for the suggestion! I totally agree with you after looking back what I just wrote. haha. If I feel like I'm going off topic, I will keep in mind that I can just simplify the paragraphs and just put them together into parts. I don't know why I think I just like writing in parts mainly because it's more convenient for me but I shall keep your suggestion in mind! :)

Oh yea! I'm going to be gone from Aug 1-Aug 6 for a family vacation! I will try to squeeze a chapter but it's not a guarantee ><

Whoo, that was a lot of talking (or typing? lol)! Now back to the story

Yours Truly,
Hilly

Amber's POV
"Wow," Michael started to say, "the place looks better than what I expected.

He was right. This year theme was called "a European excursion". It would have sounded interesting but our school's rival, Hart High School, did "A Night in Paris" for their prom. And their prom name sounds better than our homecoming dance. But the place did look amazing.

Homecoming is at this fancy nice hotel called Eastwood. It's owned by a very rich family and anyone who has a lot of money, stays there when they are visiting my neighborhood. Thankfully, the daughter of the family who owns the hotel is on the homecoming committee so we were able to score the best ballroom for free which means more money on decorations. And the decorations were very nice. There were gold and silver streamers hanging everywhere so nicely. There is also a model of the Eiffel tower, Trevi Fountain, and so much more of Europe, all in one room. There was also a gelato bar and a crepe station. There were also backdrops of cities of Europe, making it feel like we are in Europe.

"Let's dance!" says Michael.

Michael took off his jacket and took my purse and checked it with the coat check. We then grabbed a drink and Michael, taking me by the hand, leads me to the dance floor.
There were already around 200 people in the ballroom but yet I still haven't seen Tiffany and Ryan.

"What time is it?" I asked Michael, trying to yell over "Poker face" by Lady Gaga.

Michael checks his watch and says "8:30."

It's been 30 minutes since the dance started. Oddly, Tiffany is a punctual person but yet she hasn't arrived yet.

"What's wrong?"Michael asks.
"Tiffany is not here yet. And I think she's hiding something from me," I tell him.

"Don't worry, she will be here soon. Maybe they lost time at their dinner or something. They're just running late because they are having too much fun. So let's just have our own fun," he says.
"Haha, okay then."

"Tik Tok" by Ke$ha then comes up and Michael and I continue to dance. Few songs later, I feel a tap on my shoulder. It was Tiffany.

"Hey!" she says giving me a hug. "Wow, you look gorgeous!"
"Aw thanks, you look gorgeous as well," I say to her.
"Listen.." she starts to say. "Sorry for the last minute plans, Ryan had to go do something but it looks like you and Michael are having fun."
"Haha, yea we are. And don't worry, the night is still young and you and Ryan are here now so we can still enjoy the rest of the night together!"
"Yea! Sounds good! I will be right back though, Ryan and I need to go take our pictures."
"O! Michael and I still need to take ours! We can go together!"
"Actually never mind," she says. "The line looks pretty long. I think I'm just going to go get a drink and get Ryan. I'll be back."

She then leaves the dance floor.

"That was really weird," I tell Michael.
"Yea that was," he says agreeing with me, "but no matter what let's just have fun."

We continued to dance as if no one was watching. After a few songs, my arms were around Michael's neck and his hands were around my waists. Our bodies were moving with the beat of the music. Pretty soon, out of nowhere, our lips touched and we kissed.

We continued to dance to a couple of songs after the kiss without saying a word together. A slow song then comes up and I rest my head on Michael right shoulder. I gazed to my right and just sway with Michael to the music. As I continue to wander off into a fairytale, I notice that there is someone at a corner in a wheelchair with a gold boutonniere. There was a girl with a gold corsage who sat next to the boy in the wheelchair. And that boy looked almost like Brandon, with a date.

Michael's POV:

"I think I'm going to sit down." Amber all of a sudden says.

She leaves the dance floor without letting me say a word and went outside the ballroom and sat down on the nearest couch. I follow her and sat next to her but no words are coming out of her mouth.

Instead she just sits down with her arm crossed and taps her foot. What on earth happened?

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
"Brandon is here," she says, "And he didn't bother telling me that he is here, with a date."
A tear rolled down her left eye but she didn't bother to wipe it. I put my arm around her, comforting her.

All of a sudden, Tiffany and Ryan arrive.

"O MY GOSH," Tiffany says, "Ambs, are you alright?"
She sits next to Amber, giving her a hug.
"Dude," says Ryan giving me a glare, "What the hell did you do?"
"Whoa whoa whoa, take it easy," I started to say while standing up, "She is just upset about something, that's all. I'm just comforting her"
"Okay hon," Tiffany then says to Amber, "Let's go to the Girl's room. Ryan, stay here. I will be right back. When I come back I better not see you two fighting."

She then grabs Amber by the arm and walks her to the girl's room.

Ryan then takes a seat but at least a foot away from me.

He then finally lets out a sigh and then says "I can't do this anymore."
"Huh?" I said.
"Look," he then says. "Brandon is my bro and all and I want him to be happy. But the truth is,
Amber is better off with you."

He is letting out a confession. Interesting.

"Thanks bro, but Amber and I are just friends. Just good friends."
"Then why did you guys make out?"
"Whoa. We didn't make out but we did kiss, It just happened but Amber and I are just friends. Nothing more. How do you know about the kiss?"
"News just fly fast here," he says with a laugh. "So, how's your night going?"
"Amber and I had fun, but all of a sudden something started to bug her."
"What? Why?"
"She thinks Brandon is here."
"Uh well, he kind of is, just don't tell Amber."
"Why?"
Ryan then lets out a sigh and says, "Because Brandon doesn't want Amber to know that he is here right now."

Amber's POV

I don't know why but thinking about Brandon gives me a headache. A huge headache.

Tiffany and I have been in the bathroom for nearly 20 minutes.

"Do you want to talk about it?" she asks.

I shook my head. I don't know why but I didn't feel like doing anything.

I finally said, "I want to go home."
"Huh?"
"Brandon is here. I saw him."
"Are you sure? He's up in San Francisco though! There's no way he's here. He's not even on the guest list! Maybe you're just thinking too much."
"I don't know, I saw someone that looked almost like him and the guy was on a wheelchair too. With a date."
"Hon, don't worry. You are just thinking too much. Brandon isn't even on the guest list and there is no way he would have got into the dance. Just enjoy tonight. You and Michael looked like you guys were having a lot of fun."
"Then can I ask you a question, why did you and Ryan cancel dinner on us? It seemed like you guys didn't want to chill with me and Michael."
She started to blush. "Of course we did! It's just that Ryan wanted it to just be us to be alone so that to can ask me to be his girlfriend! And about the pictures, we kind of just wanted to make out instead of dance... so yea."

I couldn't help but smile for her and don't forget agree with her. Tonight was supposed to be an amazing night. I should just think less and party hard.

"Let's go back to the dance floor... unless you and Ryan want your alone time," I said jokily,
"Nah, let's just go back together," she says.

We both laughed and walked out the bathroom. We then grabbed our dates and reentered the ballroom.

I guess it is safe to say that I'm just going to party like there's no tomorrow.

Michael's POV

It has been an hour since Amber's breakdown but at least now she is having a good time. During that hour, all we did was dance and just had fun. But since homecoming is ending soon, which means it was time to announce Homecoming King and Queen.

"Can I have everyone attention please?" says the head of the homecoming committee who was wearing a gold dress. "It is time to announce the Homecoming Court of 2009"

"Let's ditch this," says Amber. "It's almost time to go anyway"

I nodded my head in agreement. We got our stuff and walked out of the ballroom.

The limo was already outside. Amber got in the limo first. As I was about to get in, I see a gold boutonniere lying on the cold hard. I picked it up and put it in my pocket.

"Ah," Amber starts to say. "What a night. My feet are so sore."
"Mine too," I say in agreement. "We danced a lot. I think we would have gotten a dancing award."
"Haha, we can soak our feet in my pool. That is my award for you because you were an awesome date."

She then puts her head on my shoulders as I put my arms around her. We then arrived back to her house. I paid the chauffeur a tip and walked Amber to her door. She unlocks the door and takes us to her backyard. She then turns on her Jacuzzi as I quickly take off my shoes and socks so that I would be able to dip my feet. She takes off her shoes and dips
her feet in next to me.

"If only we weren't in a big city," she says.
"Why?" I asked.
"If we lived somewhere in the mountains, there will be stars shining every single night. Think about all the wishes we can make."
"How come you like making wishes so much?" I asked.
"I don't know. It brings hope I guess."
"Well, what do you usually wish for?"
"You're going to laugh," she says.

"Try me."
"I would usually wish that Brandon and I will go to a dance together before we graduate."
"Oh."
"Yea, because Brandon and I use to be very close, it's just that ever since high school started, we drifted apart. But when a dance comes around, I would dream that he would ask me but instead, another girl I guess gets in a way."
"Well, there are still other dances. You still got a chance.
"I don't know," she says. "I feel like I'm over my head. Brandon will never see me that way. He only sees me as a friend"

I didn't know what else to say. She has secretly fallen for him, and has fallen for him pretty hard.

"Look," Amber starts to say with a sigh. "Don't take this the wrong way but the only reason why I said yes to be your date was because I wanted my wish to go away because I knew it was never going to come true so I thought going to Homecoming with you was going to make me stop making that wish because every time I make that wish I feel so silly and-"

I couldn't help it but to just touch her lips. I ran my hand through her hair and she started to calm down.

And then all of a sudden, I couldn't help it but to say, "Brandon was at the dance."
