Amber’s POV
"He’s in a coma right now but that’s not the bad part," my dad says.

O. my. Gosh. He better still be alive. He has to.

"After many brain scans, he should wake up from his coma in a couple of days but the surgery process is going to take longer."

Okay, that’s not so bad. As long as he’s alive.

"He won’t be back home for another at least 3 months."

3 MONTHS????!!!!! WHAT’S HAPPENING?!!

"There’s a chance that he may never walk again."

Tears burst out of everyone’s eyes. I can’t picture Brandon not walking. Just can’t. He’s the captain of the football team, he has to. This is all unbelievable.

"His right leg is badly messed up. So messed up that we have to hire top surgeons. Nonetheless, he should be fine after the surgery. However, the surgery will take about a week. He then will have to stay in the hospital for another week or 2. During his stay, we are going to check if his legs are paralyzed. I can’t tell the chances of that right now. When he is fully rested from the surgery, we have to send him to this rehab located in San Francisco for around 2 months. He then has to come back to the hospital for another week, in case if his leg is really weak."

It was all silent in the room for the next minute. Many thoughts filled in my head. Is he going to be better? What if something goes wrong during his surgery? How am I going to go on senior year without him? Why is this all happening now?

"There is still good news," My dad starts to say. "Visitors are now welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Charlton, you guys may go visit him first."

"Thank you, Dr. Hamilton," Mrs. Charlton says as she was wiping her last tear. Then she and her husband went to go visit their son.

Then Sharon got up. "Sorry sis, I have to go. I have to go to some orientation thing at USC. Call me if you need anything." She then walked out of the hospital. It was just me, Tiffany, and Ryan now.

"I-I-I can’t believe it," said Ryan. "Coma. Never walking again. It’s horrific."
"I know. What exactly happened? Do you know?" I ask.
"I-I-I’m not so sure. I heard something though. But I don’t think I should tell you guys," he says trying not to tremble.
"Ryan, you have to tell us. Please. We need to know how this happened," Tiffany begs.
"Promise me you guys won’t freak out," he says.
"Promise," Tiff and I say in unison.
