Boho Just Gets Bigger
After a poor start, the second day of Milan fashion week proved all was back to normal.
Burberry and Marni had pretty and wearable shows, the former including candy-coloured metallic skirts and slim tunics reminiscent of the Chloe show last year.
Marni stuck to its USP with loose belted tops, cape-like coats and layered dresses and vests over leggings.
Whereas Burberry's tunics were fitted and flattering, the Marni show demonstrated why the trend for volume is a hard sell.
This week has seen some of the thinnest models for some time, and the emphasis on oversized clothes dwarfs them all the more.
Prada returned to its ladylike look with - yes, it's officially a trend - tunic dresses, lush satin tops and, somewhat less wearably, tassled leather dresses. Afterwards Miuccia Prada gave her usual seemingly cerebral but ultimately meaningless explanation to the collection: "It's simple things that make women feel strong and find beauty."
